Loosing My Religion: Quality Writing and Content Mills
Some people think sub par writing is killing the Internet, or at least parts of it. They also point to poor quality writing on ‘content mills’ being responsible for dragging down wages for writers in general. I have my own take on this, of course. Not everyone needs a high level of quality, and any quality above need is waste. Additionally, there are factors involved in content acquisition decisions that go far beyond the subjective quality of the writing. Businesses can not operate on the same principles as art endowment organizations.
