I am sorry but after looking at this guy’s blog, and the amount of votes he has received on the last two rounds of the competition - I am almost 100% certain this contest is fixed. I believe the mods are increasing the vote count of the lesser blog to stimulate more activity - total crap if you ask me…

I will continue to vote for you but I think the trophy itself is diminishing in value!

  6. Comment by Dane Morgan 6: Dane Says:

Damion, that’s basically what my last comment was about. I personally started suspecting something during round two based on some of the other matches. I could buy me and Chris being as tight as we were because we actually share a large portion of our support base. But some of the other matches seemed very off.

Now with this guy having more votes in a day and a half than he got in the previous 6 days… well, if it walks like a duck, you know.

BUT, I’ve already started this competition. And it’s not the fault of those who have been supporting me. I’m trying to come up with a fair way to continue this weeks competition but divorce it from this phoney blog cup thing.

  7. 7: Damion Says:

I was actually having fun with this and it, excuse the language, pisses me off that they are doing this because I KNEW whoever won between you and Chris would take this all the way. The sad part about it is that we don’t really know who won… It is possible that he really won and you just lucked out on the timing of their updates…

    Sad really.

  8. Comment by Dane Morgan 8: Dane Says:

Yep. My thoughts exactly. And I really respect Chris too. I have a bad taste in my mouth over this. my initial reaction is to tell people NOT to vote for me now. I have that post half typed up, but it’s a hard thing to publish because I feel a little like I’ve let people down with all the hype I threw at this thing.

I also see that he is a Blog Catalog member and was here a couple hours ago. A part of me wants to give him the benefit of the doubt, but the rational part of me (that I really value) is also pretty pissed right now. I’ve kind of delayed posting because I didn’t want to post in the frame of mind I was in. The first draft was a throw back to when I was marketing adult sites and was significantly less than family friendly.

But for those reading this exchange, please STOP voting for me. I will be posting an actual post soon to that effect. I just need to still talk to a couple of trusted advisers and get my temper in check.

  9. 9: ES Says:

    Voted for you again!

  10. 10: Lin Says:

Ok Dane, I’ve read the current exchange about the possibility of a fixed race. Hmm, not good. I’ll wait to vote for you until you give the go ahead.
