Popularity Contest: Temp Fix Download For Popular In Category Feature

[drain file 1 show]
Alex King's Popularity Contest Plugin has a feature that lets you display the most popular posts in a given category. Unfortunately this feature was not working with the new version under WordPress 2.3.x.

I have altered the code in the plugin by replacing some data base table references and managed to get this feature fixed. I posted my findings on the plugin page at Alex's blog. Since then I have had a few requests for the source code with my changes, so I have decided to release it as a temporary fix.

Please note that I am not a real programmer. I'm a weekend code hacker.

This file should be considered temporary and should be replaced as soon as Alex releases a new version that fixes this problem. I will remove this download at that time as well.

Good going-- upgrading

Good going-- upgrading someone else's plugin is sometimes almost harder than writing a new one!

So many things dealing with "categories" changed. I advised my readers to check with plugin editors before upgrading. It is a pain to go backwards, and waiting a few months for the plugin authors to check, double check and triple check can be well worth it.

Upgrading "Hide No Sponsored Categories" was a pain in the *ss. (Upgrading others was trivial.)
