Why Letting A Good Idea Fly Free Is Good For You.

Okay, I’ve made mention of it before, and some of you know that I am a member of Noah Fleming’s private site Rich Jerks. This isn’t an ad, as far as I know Noah doesn’t even have an affiliate program for the membership site. You can check the main page, I don’t know if there are any openings right now. There is a membership cap of 200 people, and I know he opens it up for registration periodically to replace members who have dropped out. If it’s available, I highly recomend the program, especially if you would like to network in a private forum populated by people who really want to work with each other and are serious about their home based internet marketing businesses.

I also pay a dollar a month for access to his now free to the public blog. I could have canceled the subscription, but a dollar a month is nothing compared to the things I’ve learned from Noah, so I let it ride.

The reason for bringing all of this up is a post Noah made to his private blog a few days back, Give it away, give it away, give it away now!. In this post Noah encourages his readers to consider taking an idea they have had that they feel is a great idea, but don’t have the skills, tools time or energy to persue in the forseeable future and give it to the on line comunity as a whole.

On a basic level I like this concept quite a bit. I do have an idea that i would love to see developed, but which I am unable currently to persue. Then again I may not be as selfless as Noah is.

On the one hand I would love to see the idea developed, and made available to the online business comunity. I personally think it would be a great tool and make a great addition to any of a few sites already running or a great centerpiece of a whole new site.

On the other hand I’m hesitant to throw it out there for just any old Tom, Dick and Harry all willy nilly as it were.

So what I’ve decided to do is split the difference. I’m going to let this idea go, and I do hope some one runs with it and makes something great of it. I do think it would be a great benefit.

but

I’m going to release it for subscribers only. If you are subscribed to this blog and logged in you will be able to read the idea right here in this post. If not, you’ll have to decide wether you think it would be worth subscribing to my blog in order to read the idea (actually there are other goodies, including an exclusive ebook on BLOGCASTing). I will drop the hint that this idea involves a new way of presenting keyword data to help home based business marketers to do their keyword research.

So there it is. For my subscribers if you like this idea, please take it and run with it. You don’t even have to feel compelled to give me credit for having the idea, I’m releasing it and letting it go.
